GDPR Privacy Statement (Users)

What is the scope of the Privacy Statement?

In compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union (EU), this Privacy Statement states if and how Beboran uses/processes your personal data. It also may refer to third parties' personal data when shared with us by you. When you directly share the personal data of other persons, you are responsible to provide them with a copy of this Privacy Statement in advance. This Privacy Statement contains detailed information regarding our collection of personal data, whom we may share it with, and also explains your rights regarding your personal data. The following applies to all your personal data – stored electronically or on paper.

What kind of personal data we may collect from you?

Beboran does not store your personal data. When creating a profile, you enter your name, email address and data about your child, however, this data is stored on your device. We do not send it to, or store it on, our servers. In future versions, the Beboran application may start storing your data, so that all your profile data can be restored in case of device change or accessed from different devices you own.

Backups made by your phone

Your device's operating system may include the app's data - including your baby's records and saved photos - in your personal backup to iCloud (on Apple devices) or Google (on Android), if you have that feature turned on. This backup is created by your phone, stored in your own Apple or Google account and controlled by you. We do not create it, read it or have access to it. You can turn it off at any time in your device settings: on iPhone under Settings > your name > iCloud > iCloud Backup, and on Android under Settings > Google > Backup.

Who may have access to your personal data?

We use Google Analytics in order to better understand how Beboran is used, including the beboran.app website. Your personal data could become accessible to Google Analytics during the execution of its services.

When you visit the beboran.app website, and only after you have consented, data may also be received by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd (Facebook Pixel). The details for both recipients are set out in "Cookies and tracking on the website" below.

The using of your personal data by third parties is no subject to this Privacy Statement. To learn how your personal data is used by our partners, please read their privacy policies: Google at https://policies.google.com/privacy/partners and Meta at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy

Cookies and tracking on the website

This section concerns the beboran.app website. The mobile application does not use cookies.

The legal basis for analytics and marketing cookies is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw it at any time.

Essential (always active)

We keep your cookie choice in browser storage so that we do not have to ask you on every page load. This category requires no consent and cannot be switched off, because without it the site cannot honour your own choice. The record stays until you clear your browser data.

Analytics and improvements (optional)

If you allow this category, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — which pages are visited, how visitors interact with the content, and how quickly pages load.

Recipient: Google Ireland Limited. Cookie retention periods are set by Google and are renewed on each visit; the current periods are described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies and https://policies.google.com/privacy

Marketing and advertising (optional)

If you allow this category, we use the Facebook Pixel to measure how our advertising performs and to show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram.

Recipient: Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. Cookie retention periods are set by Meta; current information is available at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy

Transfers outside the European Union

Google and Meta may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Both companies are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has recognised as providing an adequate level of protection.

How to withdraw or change your consent

At the top of this page there is a panel showing your current settings, with a button to change them. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent and takes effect immediately.

What will happen if we decide to update this Privacy Statement?

Periodically, we may amend this Privacy Statement in order to fully reflect any changes in our legal obligations, or if a future version of Beboran collects and processes your personal data in order to improve the services it provides. In case of the latter, our Privacy Policy will be expanded to include the ways we process your personal data. We will notify you about any changes made to this Statement and its edited version will come into effect only after you have been notified.
